We had a killer timeĀ filming Cara and Terrence’s wedding on New Years Eve in Newport, Rhode Island! The venue Ocean Cliff , totally rocked and working along side their photographer, Kristen Spencer , is always a pleasure. Take a look at the sweet sunset images we captured on the coast!
Stacey+Rich’s Otesaga wedding
Get buckled in because we have a monster blog post from an Otesaga wedding hitting you first thing this morning right between the eyes! You may remember Stacey+Rich from their NYC engagement shoot which we did in the Fall. I feel like I can usually get a pretty good vibe from a couple just from the engagement shoot alone – and when they rented out an abandoned and sick NYC building for us to shoot in I knew it was going to be the start of an awesome relationship! Factor that in with an Otesaga wedding, and her team of vendors… well just check out the images below:
Nice window light, and gorgeous designers – nice way to start the day (other than the snow storm!)
Another hot C+W bride (no, it never gets old)
Rich and the guys were holding serve though – his tux fit like a glove and his bow tie was awesome. Rich probably was wondering if I was hitting on him during the wedding but when a guy really gets something custom it shows
I’m always sneaking around looking for moments like these
It was very snowy outside so we wanted to stay a little warm, even if it was just for a minute
But you know I have to go outside! Cmon now. Christine Wheat was there to make me look once again
A couple of my favorites – absolutely in love with these images
Afterward we headed over to the Farmers Museum to hit up some of their great locations
Yes this is a devoted wedding party, I’m not sure it ever got above 15 or 16 degrees the entire time we were outside
This tree with hanging snowflake table cards was a huge hit
David Michael Schmidt from Renaissance Floral Designs absolutely knocked it out of the park on this one. The man is insanely talented anyway, and you see him on this blog a lot….but damn!
I wasn’t the only one impressed :))
Otesaga weddings look amazing
I love this moment during one of the toasts
Dancing the night away with Soul Session
As if ALL OF THAT wasn’t enough – yep, it’s time for the sickest backdrop in the history of weddings. Seriously check that thing out!! That’s a blue sheet hung from piping with several rows and layers of hand-cut snowflakes. The layers and different rows give it that dimension the background has.
Thank you to both families for having me, and for allowing me to share in such an awesome event. Seriously you all were awesome, and you had a truly incredible wedding. I’m sincere when I say I feel lucky to have been included. Also a big thank you to the team of pros that I worked with that day – everyone was on tippy top of their game and it was fun to watch. It’s inspiring. And of course Otesaga weddings are some of my favorites (hope to do it again soon Melissa!)
Tia+Bernardo’s Winter Park Florida
Well, there is nothing like a Florida wedding in January to star the year off right! We have been looking forward to Tia+Bernardo’s Winter Park wedding for quite some time, they are good friends of ours and we’ve known Tia for a while. She became a friend of both of us when we pounded the pavement during bridal fashion week at theknot.com. Bridal Fashion week sounds all glamorous, and it certainly can be, but it’s also a frustrating long and at times stressful day. Tia was often times one of the editors who we’d go to shows with and we bonded right away – she’s such a sweetheart and good person. If you can make days like those fun, then you know you’ve got a good friend!
You may also remember their awesome Boston engagement shoot from the blog. They are also featured in the Engagement section of the regular website (yes they are like C+W celebs).
We just LOVED Tia’s Reem Acra from Kleinfeld Bridal. Can you see the subtle hint of pink? Our mutual friend, Heather (her wedding, here!), fashion editor at the knot, helped styled Tia!
I just love these little hangers. They make all the difference.
Something borrowed!
Love that Florida Sunshine!
Tia+Bernardo got married in the same church that Tia’s parents got married in 30+ years ago. Tia walked down the aisle to Ave Maria (the same song Tia’s mom walked down the aisle to).
Butta light time… it sure is nice shooting in Florida during the winter months
This was my favorite series of the portraits, just absolutely in love with these images (Luke)
The candy/cookie bar was Tia’s mom’s idea. She always keeps a lot of candy in her house (everyone loves coming over!). The Italian cookies were because Tia’s mom is full-blood Italian and Bernardo’s family also has Italian blood. They always get Italian cookies for special occasions. The candy/dessert bar was put together by one of Tia’s mom’s close friends withĀ FabergĆ© bowls!
Isn’t this the coolest guest book ever??? Everyone signed theirĀ names next to their thumb print.
Tia+Bernard met at a University of Florida Gator Club event at McFadden’s in Boston, MA. Of course they had to play the Gator Song!
I love this last shot with their names gobo’ed behind them dancing
It was certainly our please shooting Tia+Bernardo’s wedding in Florida. Their families were amazing hosts!

Alissa+Gary at the Stanley Theater in Utica
It’s officially the winter in Upstate New York and that means no more weddings right? Wrong! We’ve got the lovely NYE wedding of Alissa+Gary, which was in lovely Utica, NY.
There’s a sneak peek of her Justin Alexander dress with her bouquet from Coriale Flowers and her awesome shoes from Aldo!
When all else fails, get out the iPhone for YouTube bow-tie tying tutorials!
Sparkly Ugg boots just in case it snowed but it didn’t!
Amy Elizabeth did an amazing job on the makeup, and Susan Redmond is to thank for the hair!
The ceremony was held in the lovely Tompkins Chapel at the Masonic Care Community.
And of course some shots right out front of The Stanley Theatre!
Love the Jim Hjelm bridesmaid dresses!
The Theater had lots of grand places to shoot in!
What a great way to ring in 2012. Congrats you guys!
Why don't you leave a comment?
Emma+Jon
I just got done photographing an absolutely sick wedding at 11 North Pearl this week and I can’t wait to share! This wedding gets uber fast turnaround due to our Wedding of the Year contest launching this week, and I wanted my last couple of 2011 to be included.
Can’t go wrong with some cute Kate Spade’s to start the day and a Vineyard dress (I’m going to miss them!). I love this shot Andrew captured of Emma with the dress.
Jon loves himself some beer, and the man has good taste (in more than just beer). Being a home brewer meant we knew he’d have some good brew on hand. In addition we hit up a spot later on to pay homage.
First looks are always a treat for us to set up, especially when there are awesome gifts involved!
Who says you can’t get butta light in December in Upstate NY! Boo yea! We headed over to Empire State Plaza for some money shots
My favorite set from the wedding – just gorgeous. You’d have no idea it was pushing 30 degrees at most :)
Cheers to the weekend, I’ll drink to that!
Afterwards we headed over to the Albany Pump Station for some shots
The church in downtown Albany was absolutely gorgeous, and the fact that Emma’s father did the service made it even more special
Weddings at 11 North Pearl look incredible, it’s such a great space for Albany weddings
More eye candy at 11 North Pearl weddings
This last series – LOVE. Seriously I was drooling over these, especially since it was Emma’s idea for me to take her out and shoot them (think lower 20s and absolutely artic). So, so beautiful.
