Heather+Eric’s wedding at the Whiteface Lodge

There’s nothing quite like Fall in the Northeast in general, but driving up the Northway on a sunny afternoon to Lake Placid is one of my favorite parts of living in Upstate NY. Truly it’s one of the best drives I’ve ever seen anywhere in the country in the Fall and 2 weeks ago I had the chance of enjoying it once again for Heather+Eric’s wedding. As many of your blog followers know we shoot at the Whiteface Lodge a ton up in Lake Placid and I was excited to be there once again to capture some gorgeous wedding photos.
You know it’s going to be beautiful when even the bridesmaids dresses are hot

Laura+John @ the Canoe Club @ the Whiteface Lodge

I can’t wait to start the week off sharing one of our gorgeous Whiteface Lodge weddings!  Today we have a gorgeous Summer Adirondack wedding at the Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid, NY! I tend to shoot up here every August and I just love it!  We always joke we need to put a secondary studio in Lake Placid because we shoot up there so much.

I love the details on Laura’s Augusta Jones dress, and the Manolo Blahnik shoes go so great together! The shoes were a gift from John. *hint, hint, Luke*.

Courtenay+Mike – Lake Placid Wedding Film

Not long ago a lovely couple by the name of Courtenay+Mike’s pictures adorned our blog page as a featured wedding that had been shot on location in Lake Placid. First of all, let me just say, I LOVE Lake Placid. I’d have no problem if Luke one day decided to move our studio up there. But that’s a story for another time. This is about the couple at hand, 2 doctors that fell in love through lab rendezvous. Can it get any sweeter than that?

So take a beautiful location, a fabulous couple, an awesome guest list and you’ve got Courtenay+Mike’s wedding.

We really enjoyed filming and cutting this trailer! Enjoy!

Alyssa + Kevin at The Whiteface Lodge

You’ve heard us rave about The Whiteface Lodge all season long so naturally we were thrilled to be back for Alyssa and Kevin’s gorgeous fall Adirondacks wedding. The couple met while attending the University of Delaware and wanted to plan a wedding that was rich with fall colors and a celebration of fall in the Adirondacks.

Alyssa’s lovely lace dress was Modern Trousseau, purchased at Nicole Bridal in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. The bridesmaid dresses were a rich pomegranate color by Wtoo by Watters and looked perfect with the fall-inspired flowers created by Kris at Trillium Florist.

To pay homage to the Adirondacks, they worked in as many fall colors as they could and included a few birch bark details. The ceremony took place outside with a great view of the fall foliage across the mountainside.

Alyssa’s dad was known for his homemade garlic popcorn, so to honor her dad they had a popcorn bar at the reception with three flavors of popcorn from Adirondack Popcorn. Traditional popcorn boxes allowed guests to serve themselves throughout the evening and even take some with them for a midnight snack.

Kristin + Josh – The Whiteface Lodge

Kristin and Josh were married in August at The Whiteface Lodge on an absolutely gorgeous day. The couple met when they both moved to Manhattan after college and ended up living in the same building. One thing led to another and they got married on the fourth anniversary of their first date – and we were happy to be there to share in the day!

Kristin and her bridesmaids all wore gorgeous dresses from J. Crew and we loved the chic aqua and tan color palette.

We loved the preppy chic vibe that Kristin and Josh rocked. Josh wore a Brooks Brothers suit paired with a tie from J. Crew while the groomsmen wore matching jackets and Vineyard Vines ties.

Something that doesn’t happen every day? A huge black spider launched onto Kristin’s dress when we were shooting these shots and we had to beat it off with our Shootsac. Talk about a little extra excitement!
