Lauren+Nick’s Saratoga National Wedding

Clark+Walker Studio is certainly no stranger to awesome weddings at Saratoga National and this wedding is yet another awesome one on our list! Lauren+Nick did an incredible job planning a beautiful ceremony and reception (great job guys!). This couple was so much fun, we really had a blast capturing their day and celebrating along with them. Congrats to you both, thanks for having us!

Lauren was so beautiful! Makeup was done by our friends Flawless by Tina and hair by Make Me Fabulous!

That gorgeous dress is an Oleg Cassinni! And who doesn’t love some Badgley Mischkas!

Loving the bridesmaids necklaces!

Excitedly awaiting the ceremony!

Gorgeous ceremony location!

Corpus Christi Church really makes for some great shots!

So classy!

The guys looked pretty classy too!

Gotta love custom cuff-links!

The light was just perfect!

They looked amazing!

Dancing the night away!

Congratulations again Lauren+Nick, you really made it something special! We were so happy to be a part of your day!

Shoes

You’ve gotta love the killer shoes our C+W brides and grooms choose for their wedding day! We see everything from stiletto heels, flats, cowboy boots, rain boots, to Hunter Wellies! Each pair is chosen because they are special to the bride or groom in some way. Sometimes they are the brides “Something Blue”, sometimes they are to add a pop of color, sometimes they are an old broken-in favorite, and sometimes they are a trademark of the town (those would be the Hunter Wellies, photographed on two of our awesome grooms in Sharon Springs, NY).

Some of the designers we saw on our C+W brides and grooms in 2011 included: Kate Spade, Nina, Cole Haan, Pedro Garcia, Manolo Blahnik, Grace, Benjamin Adams, Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, and Oscar de la Renta.

Thanks to all of our 2011 C+W brides and grooms, we loved all your awesome shoes and the fact that you are so creative in displaying your style!

Emanuella+Herbert Bridal Shoot

I had the chance to do a fun and unique shoot this past Fall, right before things turned cold, here in Upstate NY. I’ve been sitting on this blog entry waiting for the blog to finally slow down to share this awesome shoot. You might remember Emanuella+Herbert from their gorgeous Hall of Springs wedding in 2010. I know there is a print of their wedding hanging in the Hall of Springs as well as some of their images featured on this website as well.

Naturally getting the chance to photograph then again got me excited. Can’t wait to share some of these images with you!

This is my personal favorite series – love this image on the left especially. Can’t wait to share this on the website.

The C+W Facebook teaser!

My new favorite secret spot in Saratoga that I’ve been dieing to use

These guys are awesome to work with!

Thank you both so much for trekking through tall grass, weird bugs, fields with dogs, and much much more to make this shoot happen!

Photobooth

A FUN, EXCITING, and UNIQUE way to have guest photos taken at your wedding reception is to include a photobooth! I know many of you have seen multiple blog entries over the last couple of years with photobooths, and we’ve been booking more and more of them. It is essentially a mini studio, set-up at your reception, that encourages you and your guests to let loose, have fun, and take some very unique photos. This creative alternative to traditional guest photos sets the stage for some awesome images that will be a fantastic addition to your wedding album.

As you check out these images, you will see just how much fun having a photobooth at your reception can be!

We include a couple small cute propsy type things like these chalkboards by request. They help encourage people to get in the photobooth and break down that intimidating “what do I do?” type of feeling.

We offer a few different fabric backdrops to choose from, but you are able to create a custom one to suit your event’s style as well.

Check out this SICK custom backdrop that was created by the bride and groom!

Sometimes people want to go all out with the props though – whatever works!

We’ve even seen people contract rental companies to make their photobooth customized

Lots of people can squeeze into a photobooth, which might make you think it would take up a lot of space, but it is surprisingly small and can fit at any event.

Whatever you decide to do with your photobooth…. just be ready to have some fun!

Stacey+Rich’s Otesaga wedding

Get buckled in because we have a monster blog post from an Otesaga wedding hitting you first thing this morning right between the eyes! You may remember Stacey+Rich from their NYC engagement shoot which we did in the Fall. I feel like I can usually get a pretty good vibe from a couple just from the engagement shoot alone – and when they rented out an abandoned and sick NYC building for us to shoot in I knew it was going to be the start of an awesome relationship! Factor that in with an Otesaga wedding, and her team of vendors… well just check out the images below:

Nice window light, and gorgeous designers – nice way to start the day (other than the snow storm!)

Another hot C+W bride (no, it never gets old)

Rich and the guys were holding serve though – his tux fit like a glove and his bow tie was awesome. Rich probably was wondering if I was hitting on him during the wedding but when a guy really gets something custom it shows

I’m always sneaking around looking for moments like these

It was very snowy outside so we wanted to stay a little warm, even if it was just for a minute

But you know I have to go outside! Cmon now. Christine Wheat was there to make me look once again

A couple of my favorites – absolutely in love with these images

Afterward we headed over to the Farmers Museum to hit up some of their great locations

Yes this is a devoted wedding party, I’m not sure it ever got above 15 or 16 degrees the entire time we were outside

This tree with hanging snowflake table cards was a huge hit

David Michael Schmidt from Renaissance Floral Designs absolutely knocked it out of the park on this one. The man is insanely talented anyway, and you see him on this blog a lot….but damn!

I wasn’t the only one impressed :))

Otesaga weddings look amazing

I love this moment during one of the toasts

Dancing the night away with Soul Session

As if ALL OF THAT wasn’t enough – yep, it’s time for the sickest backdrop in the history of weddings. Seriously check that thing out!! That’s a blue sheet hung from piping with several rows and layers of hand-cut snowflakes. The layers and different rows give it that dimension the background has.

Thank you to both families for having me, and for allowing me to share in such an awesome event. Seriously you all were awesome, and you had a truly incredible wedding. I’m sincere when I say I feel lucky to have been included. Also a big thank you to the team of pros that I worked with that day – everyone was on tippy top of their game and it was fun to watch. It’s inspiring. And of course Otesaga weddings are some of my favorites (hope to do it again soon Melissa!)

christine wheat: Luke, love the images. The energy on that snowy winter day was magical. From the first meeting with this couple, in NYC, I knew I was going to love them. The bride has a great vision and allowed all of the vendors to bring it to life. Soul Session rocked it, Renaissance made the guests jaws drop when they entered the ballroom, the venue gave premiere service and photography...well what can I say I LOVE the images. Classic and timeless! Great working with you.
