Turning Stone Wedding with Jennifer+Brett

Sit back, relax, and get ready for an insane blog entry. Not only is this one of the longest blog entries of the year, but it also has both the photo and film from Jenn and Brett’s Turning Stone wedding.
Normally I don’t post much about invitations, and definitely not two shots of invitations… but these invites were amazing. Love the work Lela did at Lela NY….

One of the reasons I love shooting Turning Stone weddings is because of these huge windows in the Lodge for getting ready

One of my absolute favs of the day – and huge props to Jenn and Brett both for being such troopers for this shot. It was wet, it was muddy, and my main squeeze Kevin Dorsey had to bring this chair all the way out into this field for this shot.

Brianne + Chris

I’m really honored to share Brianne+Chris’s wedding today. I actually grew up around Chris and his family a lot as a child, in fact I don’t think anyone other than Chris’s mom ever cut my hair until I was in my 20s! Both families always vacationed together down in Myrtle Beach and even though we went to different schools our families have always been friends for as long as I can remember. When I heard through my grandmother that Chris had gotten engaged I had a feeling I might get a call, and of course I’m honored to be sharing some of the images with you today.

Yet another beautiful C+W bride!

Chris was not to be out-done though!  Love the portrait on the left, but anyone who knows Chris knows the one on the right is really him :)

The Risavi family have always been the kind of people who give you a smile, or a laugh, anytime you see them.  This is a great exchange between Chris’ father and the couple as he gives everyone a good laugh.

I had a really great time at this wedding and it was a little bit of a reminder of how important what we do really is and how much impact it can have on a family. I was reminded of that last year when I was married, and you really see just how incredibly important wedding photos are. We get to attend some amazing events, all over the globe, but this was really nice for me personally to sort of bring me back to my roots of what we do and how important it can be to people. Not just photos of cool details or beautiful centerpieces, but of families. Thank you to the Risavi family for allowing me to be a part of such a big day, and for always being such great friends!

Congratulations Leah + Peter!

Leah and Peter were married on a gorgeous July day at Turning Stone Resort. Their beautiful ceremony on the Great Lawn was officiated by their friend who is a judge and then a reception at Turning Stone’s Shenendoah Clubhouse followed. They really wanted their wedding to be all about a fun-filled day for their loved ones and on that note they definitely hit it out of the park!

Leah was one of those brides that just glows – she was radiant all day! Her hair was done at the Skana Spa at the resort with makeup from Riki Osborne of Syracuse Makeup Artistry.

These days we’re seeing more and more unique wedding favor ideas. Perfect for a clubhouse reception, Leah and Peter gave guests personalized golf balls. In honor of the casino at Turning Stone, guests also received Lucky 7s scratch-off lotto tickets in their welcome bags. It’s the personalized touches that your guests will remember for years to come.

congrats to Kathryn and Thomas

Recently I had the pleasure of joining Katy and Tommy for their wedding over at the Turning Stone Casino. It’s been a while since I’ve been over to the Turning Stone (stupid busy season and wedding!) so I was stoked to go back and shoot a beautiful wedding. There wasn’t a lot of time for me to hang in the casino, but it was fine because karma gave me an absolutely stunning sunset to work with instead :)

Anytime I arrive in the morning and see amazingly cute flower girls and Vera Wang bridesmaid dresses I know it’s a good day

I love this moment, the veil was just put on and she’s looking in the mirror to see the final outfit and you can just feel her excitement (and nervousness). I especially love the clenched hands!
