I’m really excited to share this beautiful winter wedding at The State Room in Albany, NY. The recipe for this holiday favorite was another beautiful C+W bride, a photogenic group, beautiful light, props rented from an antiques dealer, and a little cooperation from Mother Nature. Winter weddings aren’t nearly as popular in Upstate NY as you might think, but weddings like this show us how awesome they can be.
Another amazing job with the bouquet by Ambiance Florals.
Our brides make us look good!
One of my favorites on the left, the car fit the theme and feeling of the wedding perfectly.
How cute were these shoes that matched the bow ties and cumber buns
You can see Dave get emotional as he greets his new wife for the first time
Johanna also had a really great idea for portraits. We headed over to Silver Fox Antiques and borrowed some of their amazing antiques. We borrowed a row of stadium seating, as well as these very ornate silve chairs, that had ram heads decorating them. How cool is that?!
There is a lot of character in these buildings in the warehouse district in downtown Albany. It makes for some awesome photos for sure!
Johanna had this set up done at the antique shop for us to use… our brides are the best
This was my first time at The State Room on State Street in Albany. Johanna really did a neat job picking out unique seating arrangement cards, and the little thank you gift boxes were also very refreshing.
Throughout the course of the day you were really able to feel the immense love and excitement Johanna’s family was all sharing. Her father and sister were glowing all day!
It’s not a party until you get head stands on the dancefloor
Here were the ingredients for this holiday dish:
Dress: Alvina Valenta
Hair/makeup: Rita Di Mura, Metamorphose Salon
Bridesmaid dresses: Lord & Taylor
Flowers: Ambiance
Entertainment: City Rhythm (New York Players)
How did you meet? Do you have a special proposal story? -
We met in midtown in NYC- we lived in adjacent buildings and our interior windows faced each other through the airshaft! Dave stuck a note on my window one day and as they say, the rest is history…
What is your inspiration when planning your wedding?
Focus more on style and home decor than typical “wedding” things
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
We had a great time and everything went perfectly!!!
