Leah+Seth’s Syracuse Wedding

Aloha from Hawaii! Both Alisha and I are out here in Kauai for a gorgeous wedding we’ll be photographing next week, but we’re still getting some work done. Before we left we photographed this gorgeous Syracuse wedding between Leah+Seth and I’m really excited to share. This is one really long blog entry so I want to jump into it:

Before we started the wedding festivities, I was invited to come and document the rehearsal evening. I started everything off by sneaking them over to a park a couple blocks away with some amazingly fresh Spring blossoms

Once I got back I headed into the Landmark Theatre for an awesome set up!

It’a always fun shooting really unique set ups like this

You know I need to do some romantic, classic, black+white images

After all the rehearsal awesomeness was over, it was time to head over to Syracuse for some wedding photography! Smoking hot shoes, and even hotter ladies… that’s how I like to roll

I liked Leah’s simple and classic dress

Meanwhile Seth was getting ready to rock it in style

The first meeting we set up with these guys was absolutely beautiful. I love images where I can feel the emotion running through the people in them.

The range of emotions we were able to capture was awesome

The ceremony was gorgeous as well

Time to bust out the photobooth!

Thank you both so much for having us at your wedding! I also need to give a huge shout out to Kelli Berg from Simply Beautiful Events for holding down the fort with us :) Thanks everyone and I cannot wait to share the trailer from this wedding with you as well.

Photobooth

A FUN, EXCITING, and UNIQUE way to have guest photos taken at your wedding reception is to include a photobooth! I know many of you have seen multiple blog entries over the last couple of years with photobooths, and we’ve been booking more and more of them. It is essentially a mini studio, set-up at your reception, that encourages you and your guests to let loose, have fun, and take some very unique photos. This creative alternative to traditional guest photos sets the stage for some awesome images that will be a fantastic addition to your wedding album.

As you check out these images, you will see just how much fun having a photobooth at your reception can be!

We include a couple small cute propsy type things like these chalkboards by request. They help encourage people to get in the photobooth and break down that intimidating “what do I do?” type of feeling.

We offer a few different fabric backdrops to choose from, but you are able to create a custom one to suit your event’s style as well.

Check out this SICK custom backdrop that was created by the bride and groom!

Sometimes people want to go all out with the props though – whatever works!

We’ve even seen people contract rental companies to make their photobooth customized

Lots of people can squeeze into a photobooth, which might make you think it would take up a lot of space, but it is surprisingly small and can fit at any event.

Whatever you decide to do with your photobooth…. just be ready to have some fun!

Clark+Walker Movie Premiere!

As you’ve read on this blog, and seen on our facebook, we rented out the famous Proctors Theatre in Schenectady for a premiere showing of our new film La Nouvelle Vague. The idea behind this film was to visually share with people what is capable with true wedding cinematography, and to also share how far the medium has come and what today’s top filmmakers can do at weddings. The event was a smashing success! Anytime we can get laughing, crying, smiling, and a standing ovation with a chant for a speech after a film we know we’ve done our job.

We busted out the red carpet for this event and black tie attire to make sure it felt like a true premiere

Alisha did most of the decor herself and the NY Wedding Boutique gave out some awesome goodie bags full of C+W swag

We had the red carpet photobooth going as well of course

It wouldn’t be one of our signature events without a little of our humor incorporated. We had these bumper stickers printed up with some pins as well. In addition we used VHS tapes with these stickers on them instead of business cards at the event.

Here is the film that we showed, in it’s entirety:

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us and for an awesome evening!

Heidi+Matt at The Sagamore, Lake George

Happy Monday everyone, and I cannot wait to share this amazing wedding at The Sagamore! When I first met with Heidi and Matt I knew right away they had style, taste, and we were going to have a ton to work with when we arrived at the wedding. I have to give huge props to Heidi though, she really nailed the entire weekend from the rehearsal to the last dance. The details, the decor, her Vera Wang dress, and she even must have called in a couple favors to get some amazing light for me :) I hope you enjoy the images below!

Yes that’s a 2nd dress you see in the background…. we know that’s a good sign for us to go have some fun.

Having a gorgeous bride always helps!

Matt has a little something to say about that as well… another hot C+W couple

Setting up a first meeting is always really fun to watch

The parasol Heidi snagged last minute was a great addition. Not only did it look great in pictures but actually came in super helpful with that crazy bright sun. Turn harsh sun into beautiful light…

Outdoor ceremonies right on the lake are incredible. The Sagamore weddings can’t be beat.

Robin from Fine Affairs really helped Heidi knock it out of the park – the room looked gorgeous!

These little favors were awesome

Surroundings Floral always makes the room come alive

Even the lanterns that hung during the dances looked great and totally different

I’m a big fan of the bride+groom saying a little something at their wedding. I know Alisha+I grabbed the mic during our dinner to thank people and to share some thoughts and feelings… it’s a classy touch.

People were ready to get ballin on the dancefloor though!

A little shout out to all the ladies that kept Heidi going all night, what a fun crowd.

Even though I loved her Vera, this cute little Mori Lee was a lot of fun for sunset portraits. I thought Heidi absolutely ROCKED it. This was the Clark+Walker Studio facebook page teaser

We also had a rockin photobooth going that evening!! I love how Heidi ordered a backdrop that matched her linens and decor perfectly.

Thank you both so much for having us at your wedding!!

C+W Photobooths

As you may have seen on the Clark+Walker facebook page, background extraordinaire Drop It MODERN did a feature on our studio.  We started offering them at weddings about 2 years ago and we saw them absolutely blow up in 2010!  We really do have a ton of fun doing these, and I think anyone who got one would highly recommend them.  It adds such a fun twist to receptions the shots with some of your friends…. I honestly wish Alisha and I did one at our wedding.  It’s just a blast for everyone involved.  Here is a sampling of one of Drop It MODERN’s backdrops that my good friend JP Elario told us to buy because of the C+W color scheme:

We did a huge variety of backgrounds in 2010 though.  What else would you expect from our creative couples?

Brigid+Steve used blue+green for their wedding colors, so check out the background we created for them:

You want a huge classy chair? Oh you fancy!

How about more of a pink+purple color scheme? That’s no problem

Or we can even use a background that’s a little more natural

Props? Yea we can make that happen

What happens in the photobooth…..

Thanks for checking out our photobooths, and if you are getting married in ’11 and you want your own custom C+W photobooth just email us at studio@clarkwalkerstudio.com. We’d absolutely love to make it happen!
