Kristin+Mike’s Glen Sanders Wedding Photos

An absolutely gorgeous Glen Sanders Mansion wedding is on tap for your Wednesday morning! I have to admit when I first meet and chat with brides having weddings in the winter months in Upstate I always want to try and get a feel for the plan and how things are going to work. You hope for the best of course, but you plan for the worst for photos. In this case Kristin and I had made preparations for both, but I was really hoping the weather would be decent enough for us to hit up Jay Street in downtown Schenectady. I felt like from our conversations it would be exactly what she was looking for and it would be a blast for me to shoot.

Not only did we get good enough weather to hit up Jay St, it was absolutely the best day you could have asked for and we shot almost everything outside throughout the day. I’m excited to share so let’s dive in:
A beautiful room with great details are always the right mix to start the day

As nice as those are though – another hot C+W bride is the real deal! I love Kristin’s anxious but excited expression on the right…. just really cute and also very real.

This is an awesome moment I was able to capture with Kristin and her mom outside after the dress was on… these are the kind of photos that may not have the butta light or incredible details – but that 5 years from now we look back on at our wedding and end up being our favorites. I know I have some shots like this with my Mom on my wedding that are some of my personal favorites – just special.

But then boom – a show stealer! Cutest little girl ever

The ladies are all outside enjoying a beautiful day in late November. Love it

My job sometimes is easy…

I was able to capture this moment right after the processional as the burst out of the church doors. I knew we wouldn’t get much light and it would be gone by the time we got to Jay St so I had to capture this one nice end of the day twilight shot

Portrait time! Luckily downtown was all lite up and perfect for photos

With loud music being played on the street from a bunch of fun loving people I had these two bust out into some dance moves for us

Kristin planned some cute details and the Glen Sanders Mansion wedding room looked great as always

Weddings at the Glen Sanders Mansion look incredible with some of the holiday decor

And I can’t end without sharing an image of the groomsmen serenading the bride on their way out – bomb guys!

Thank you both so much for having us! It’s been an absolute pleasure and as always Glen Sanders weddings are a treat

Sarah + Judd – Glen Sanders Mansion

Sarah and Judd were married a few weeks ago at Glen Sanders Mansion where they celebrated in high style. (Think amazing fireworks and one of the coolest chuppahs we’ve ever seen!) The two met while students at Columbia University and were later engaged at Judd’s family summer home in the Catskills – we loved having the opportunity to be a part of their wedding!

Sarah started the day with hair by Traci from Studio D and makeup by Teresa Figueroa. In her classic lace Pronovias dress she was a total knockout. The bridesmaids wore eggplant dresses by Bill Levkoff and Sarah wore rockin’ purple shoes to match.

These two were so sweet during the ketubah signing – one look at them and you could tell how incredibly happy they were to be getting married.

The ceremony took place under a gorgeous chuppah. It was made from fabric from Sarah’s mother’s wedding dress – love that kind of family connection!

Oh and remember those fireworks we promised? Out of this world awesome!

The cake topper was pretty sweet, too – it was designed to look like Judd and Sarah’s Nintento Wii characters. Such a cool detail!

Of course, any good wedding has a kickin’ party and this one was no exception. Gravity kept the crowd moving all night!

Congrats to Ariane+Marc

I’ve been excited to share these wedding photographs from Ariane+Marc’s Glen Sanders Mansion wedding since the day we took them! I remember when they first came to the studio and thinking how easy my job was going to be :) When you see them below you’ll know what I mean. Fast forward through a year of planning though and I feel like I was able to get to know Ariane and her vision for the wedding pretty well and I knew she was putting together some great ideas.

Having Make Me Fabulous doing the hair and make up was a great start! I also loved the tank top which she rocked with style all morning

Honestly Ariane looks gorgeous even in a tank top as we’ve already seen, so I wasn’t as concerned with the dress as I usually am. However her Amalia Carrara dress fit her like a glove.

We’re big fans of wedding photography at the Glen Sanders Mansion, and find ourselves there a lot more often this year. It was especially nice that day though as we were able to do both the ceremony+reception all at the same place.

The way they had the ceremony set up was beautiful

The light coming in the large windows at the Glen Sanders Mansion really made our job easy

One of my favorites of the day

I loved the floral arrangements put together by David Michael Schmidt over at Renaissance Floral Design

We’re able to get wedding photographs like this

A couple more favorites, love shooting with these two!

The bridal party was a blast too, and I love the Vera Wang bridesmaids dresses in amethyst

David Michael Schmidt always puts together awesome creations for his brides, it’s been awesome working with him so much this year for our studio

The Glen Sanders Mansion also has some nice lighting outside for some wedding photographs at night that we decided to take full advantage of

A huge thank you to the staff at the Glen Sanders Mansion for making our job as wedding photographers super easy. And of course an even bigger thank you to Ariane+Marc for trusting us on their big day. We have a video trailer that’s being put together and you WON’T want to miss it!

Kathy + Chris – Glen Sanders Mansion

Kathy and Chris braved early spring in Upstate NY when planning their April wedding, but it was a risk worth taking, because their wedding was absolutely stunning. They were married in a beautiful ceremony at St. Edwards Church in Clifton Park and celebrated with a reception at Glen Sanders Mansion. The elegant earth tone color palette of green and brown was incredibly sophisticated and highlighted with accents of crystals and loads of candlelight. Everything about their wedding, which Kathy planned herself, was traditional elegance at its best.

Kathy made an absolutely beautiful bride, with hair and makeup from the pros at Make Me Fabulous. Her accessories were from The Bridal Gallery by Yvonne while her bridesmaids donned brown satin dresses from Angela’s Bridal.

We love these shots out on the train tracks and Kathy was rocking that fur stole!

Of course, Kathy left no detail forgotten when planning the beautiful reception, it was the epitome of elegance and romance.

And just because Kathy and Chris are so great, we asked them to share a little bit more…

How did you meet?
Chris and I met online on Match.com. He was the first person online that I met in person and I was going to be his last – and I was!!! He waited 7 days to ask me out after our initial date, playing by those “unofficial dating rules.” Our first date was at the Stadium Café in downtown Saratoga Springs. I brought my friend and her mother with me, just in case he was psycho. We watched a South Carolina vs. Arkansas football game (I’m an Alabama graduate and my girlfriend is a South Carolina graduate). We were an item after that second first date and got engaged after two years of dating. He’s the man of my dreams!

Did you include any special traditions in your wedding?
I carried a hankerchief that my brother gave to my mom the day he got married. My older sister carried it on her wedding day too (we all got married within 2 years of each other)

Is there anything else you’d like to share?
We absolutely chose the right photographers and videographer for us. Clark + Walker is professional, fun, creative and damn good at their job!

How can we argue with that? Thank you, Kathy and Chris, for allowing us to be a part of your celebration! We wish you all the best in the years ahead.

Lindsay: Absolutely fabulous photos! I'm proud to say that I was that friend, their first date was a blast (go Cocks!) and the rest is history. Two people couldn't be more perfectly matched. Looking forward to having Alisha, Dawn and John T. (you'll be missed Luke) at my wedding in December.

Morgan+Tim at the Glen Sanders Mansion

Wedding season is full swing and that means the C+W blog is too, so keep your eyes peeled! Just over a week ago we were over at the Glen Sanders Mansion and the Church of St. Adelbert with the lovely Morgan+Tim to document their big day, after Tim proposed to her at on the peak of Buck Mountain in the Adirondacks. How cute!

Look at the awesome dress Morgan got at J. Crew. I love that flower!

Which of course goes well with the real flowers! And not to mention her necklace.

Morgan did her own hair and did an awesome job if I do say so myself. Makeup was all M.A.C.

Tim and his guys were a blast and were definitely having a blast.

Nothing beats a first look!

Their son, Adam, was the cutest accessory at the wedding, hands down!

Tutu’s + chuck’s=cuteness!

Glen Sanders has a new fire pit for 2011!

Congrats you too!
