Hall of Springs wedding with Betsy+Mike

Hall of Springs weddings are some of our favorites, and we’ve been on a major roll with them this Fall! Anytime we get to shoot in Saratoga Springs we’re happy, but weddings at the Hall of Springs have become almost a staple of the studio. Combine that with an absolute all-star cast of professionals and it’s time to get busy with some photos! This late night blog post turned into one of the longest of the Fall, so I want to dive right into it:
Alayne from Make Me Fabulous was on the scene, which always helps me start my day off right!

I loved this idea with her shoes… all her bridesmaids and some family wrote messages to her while also being something blue. Really cute idea.

Why yes, yes that IS another hot C+W bride!

Betsy made us look good all day

So did David Michael Schmidt from Renaissance Floral

The ladies were all looking fantastic

These little starlets were some of the cutest flower girls I’ve had all year. I could practically do a blog entry on just them.

Mike has been patient enough at this point, so we gotta get him some butta light

Once we nailed all of this it was time to set up a first meeting. This was one of the most important first meetings of the year for me, because it almost didn’t happen and I pushed so hard for it to happen. Normally I don’t push for them at all, I usually let people decide for themselves as I feel it’s a personal decision. However when I got Betsy’s timeline and saw no photos of them until after the ceremony, when it would be dark, I pushed and pushed (in a nice way) for this to happen. Like I said normally that’s never the case, I respect people’s decisions on how they want their wedding day to unfold and I want to support that. But not when it totally jacks up my photos :) So I knew the pressure was on to make this all worth it!

I have to give huge props to Betsy as well, because she was set against it and came all the way around to change her mind just for these photos. Hopefully everyone likes them!

Once we finished with that we headed to the Hall of Springs for the wedding. As soon as I walked in I was in love – the room looked incredible. Clifton Park Rental and Renaissance Floral teaming together on this beauty.

Another example of why I love Hall of Springs weddings? They held anyone from going in until I said I was done with the room. Now that was only about 10 minutes, I wouldn’t abuse that of course…. but I always sign their praises because they are so open to working with professionals. 99% of venues would just open the doors when it was convenient for them and if the photographer hasn’t captured the room – sucks to be you! But Tony said to me “I can hold them for a little longer but tell me as soon as you’re good” when I rushed in the door.

More awesome details!

Love this real look during the ceremony

Once this was all done I was able to sneak them outside for some twilight portraits – literally as their processing. Worth it though no?

Once we got back I was able to see the amazing transformation of the room to reception decor

Some killer info from Betsy – “Our theme for the wedding was to create a swanky, romantic, and dreamy experience. My idea of using all white(except for the bridesmaids flowers) was to really allow the color changes by Clifton Park Rental (CPRC) to bring the tables and flowers to life(and create a mood). I love anything big(and sometimes gaudy) so I really wanted to add crystal elements to the tables, and add drama to the head table by seating us in a delano couch with the Fabric Backdrop. Mikey has been pretty quiet through the whole thing and trusted me to create something we both would love. However, there was one thing he asked for, and one thing I know he would love. The one thing he really wanted was to create a little lounge area with fabric swags and tables where people could hang out. CPRC will be transforming one of the corners of the Hall of Springs into a Lounge Area.”

Amazing colors and the white dancefloor looked awesome

Wait, who’s that on the right? Celebrity guest appearance from mutual friends Carolyn and Dominick

Hall of Springs wedding with Danielle+Matt

Back to back blogs, back to back weddings at the Hall of Springs! I’m really excited to share Danielle+Matt’s wedding here before we hop on a plane to go see the World Series :) Danielle has become a friend throughout the planning process…. I knew we’d be tight when she started calling me Walker. Combine that friendship with a beautiful couple, great details, the Hall of Springs… and yes you want to skip my text and just view the pretty pictures. Can’t blame you.

The bouquet by Designs by Douglas was great, and I love Danielle’s special touch. She went with a combination of brighter fall colors for the floral arrangements and I thought it was an awesome choice.

A couple of my favorites from the morning…. of course she’s getting ready in the living room but that’s how we roll. Lots of space for the girls to help and pamper Danielle.

Yes, I know what you’re thinking – another hot C+W bride? Yep.

Beautiful church

These are my favorite moments of the ceremony

Congratulations!! Now you get to head out with your photographer into the cold rain for a few minutes :)

But you love me so it’s worth it. I was really loving the romantic feel to these images

Facebook teaser!

A 2nd facebook teaser, and one of my favorites from the day. Going up on the website once things slow down enough for me to update it.

These night images are some of my favorite of the year. Keep in mind we could actually see our breathe and it’s drizzling as we’re shooting these – huge props to Matt+Danielle both for bring so awesome.

How ballin are these floating glass balls with candles??!

People were ready to get the party started at their Hall of Springs wedding!!

I’m a sucker for proud parent shots… being a young parent myself I fall in love with these moments

Everyone had such an awesome time with laughs, jokes, tears, and more well into the night.

Thank you both so much for having us at your Hall of Springs wedding!

Courtney+Chris’ Lake Placid Lodge wedding

There are very few things I love more than weddings at the Lake Placid Lodge!  I’m delighted to show you another gorgeous Fall wedding in the Northeast with Courtney+Chris’ Lake Placid Lodge wedding. It was chilly, rainy (yes, I said rainy) day but a nice fire was warming while getting ready.

Courtney had great taste and did not over look any detail!

Courtney + Chris had these cute little ‘vow books’ that they wrote their own vows in. That will be a great little memento someday!

Can’t have a fabulous wedding with a little vintage Cartier? Right?

Is that an Oscar de la Renta hanging there? Why yes it is!

I thought Chris’ wedding suite was AWESOME! It totally fit the Adirondack wedding theme and it’s great that this groom mixed it up a bit! The custom jacket is from Ptarmigan. The rest is a mix of Ralph Lauren/Filson/Vineyard Vines/Nike.

I would be this excited too if I was putting on my Oscar!

Another stunning C+W bride (and yes we know how lucky we are).

Doesn’t this picture just want to make you snuggle? I could shoot fall weddings in Lake Placid forever. Such cute details!

Married!

One of my favorites from the entire day, classic!

The rain won’t stop any of us from great portraits!

The rain literally cleared out for only 15 mins during dinner the entire day. Made a really cool photo with the mist in the background!

I love Courtney’s change of hair for her wedding. I did that too at my own wedding!

Yup, those candied apples were a good as it looks!

Enjoy your honeymoon in Rock Creek in Montana!

San Ysidro Ranch with Ashley+Eric

I’m soooo excited to show you Ashley+Eric’s wedding at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California! We flew out with Katie O Events who coordinated a spectacular day and I’ve been dieing to share these images. From the moment Katie mentioned “the Cantanucci wedding” and the all-star team we’d be working with we knew it was going to be on. This is already one of those weddings where we feel excited and proud to be associated with, and we haven’t even done the October event yet :)

I knew Ashley and I would be BFF’s when I saw her Lela Rose rehearsal dinner dress…..

I’m a huge fan of Lela…..

Here is just one of the views from the ceremony site, the couples family property in the hills. The view of Santa Barbara was absolutely incredible and we were honored to share the weekend with the family

Even the rehearsal dinner was a lot of fun and it was a close crowd which always gives us lots of emotion to work with

Lea Ann Belter was the designer of her wedding gown.  Ashley got it locally at Something Bleu in Saratoga Springs.

Ashley had the bottoms of her Pedro Garcia shoes died French blue as my “something blue” at the Leather Spa in NYC.

The couple had a very “earthy” feel to their wedding with lots of succulents, and a little bit of orange. The flowers from Mindy Rice in Santa Barbara were AMAZING!

Katie’s staff made kumquat cocktails for after the ceremony from this exact kumquat tree in the front yard. Seriously. Attention to detail!

You knew it was going to be a good day when Eric was having fun getting photographed – yea baby!!

Ballin.

Another gorgeous Clark+Walker bride

Seriously our brides make us look good don’t they? The shot on the right just says beautiful bride, California and Santa Barbara light, outdoor wedding… Luke’s in love with that image.

Nice view right?

One of the nice things about destination weddings is the amount of time you spend with a family throughout the process…. getting to watch, observe, capture, and learn is our job. I can tell you without a doubt there is no hiding what a proud father Ashley has. This moment during the ceremony was special to us as we were capturing it after getting to know the family

Their 14 moth old son, Jackson, was the ring bearer, and he was just hysterical walking down the isle.

California’s next big star?

These crazy ass clouds rolled in right during the ceremony. I have never seen clouds do that before or so fast!

Jackson stopped the ceremony to give everyone “knucks”! He was excited too!

You know we still have to sneak them away for some of our signature, relaxed portraits

Menu cards done locally by The Pink Orange!

I thought this was a great picture to show you Eric + Ashley’s personalities! FUN!

The small reception was held at The San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara.

San Ysidro Ranch Weddings are some of our new favorites, all you Cali brides out there give us a holler!

The Clark+Walker Studio facebook teaser!

Ashley+Eric plan to have a party reception at the Hall of Springs this month to celebrate with all their family and friends! We truly appreciate when our couples and their families send us out to amazing places. We hope we did your wedding justice and appreciate the opportunity to spend a couple days with such an amazing family.

Heather+Eric’s wedding at the Whiteface Lodge

There’s nothing quite like Fall in the Northeast in general, but driving up the Northway on a sunny afternoon to Lake Placid is one of my favorite parts of living in Upstate NY. Truly it’s one of the best drives I’ve ever seen anywhere in the country in the Fall and 2 weeks ago I had the chance of enjoying it once again for Heather+Eric’s wedding. As many of your blog followers know we shoot at the Whiteface Lodge a ton up in Lake Placid and I was excited to be there once again to capture some gorgeous wedding photos.
You know it’s going to be beautiful when even the bridesmaids dresses are hot

Heather’s Paloma Blanca looked smokin on her

LOVE

This is one of my favorite series of the day – Heather looks amazing and her mother’s expression says it all

Eric was getting busy too

This little girl was insanely cute… I think she’s nervous here so maybe if I cover my eyes nobody can see me :)

While shooting in a church is of course normal for us, what a pleasant change to be able to shoot in such an awesome environment

Decent backgrounds…

These are always the looks I’m trying to capture

Whiteface Lodge does an amazing job with their outdoor wedding ceremonies

One of my favorite group of ladies so far this year – they had me cracking up all morning

After we were able to nail down some great group and family shots I snuck out the bride and groom to take advantage of the awesome backdrops around Whiteface Lodge for their weddings

The fall colors and a little sunset sneaking in – great combo!

Yes I did have one of these apples, and yes it’s as good as it looks!

Time for a little dancing

Thank you both so much for having me at your wedding, and congratulations on an amazing event!

Hair/makeup: Hair – The Spa at The Whiteface Lodge Makeup – Gina Scammell
