We’ve been out to Nantucket for several weddings, and all around Massachusetts this year, but it wasn’t until Lauren+Andrew’s wedding, did we get to spend some time on Cape Cod. And when I first approached with this wedding video, they told me it was just going to be a backyard wedding overlooking the ocean. Perfect, I thought.

When we arrived, it was clear that this wasn’t some “backyard” wedding. Navigating down the narrow roadways that followed the cape houses dotting the shoreline, we pulled up to see not only a beautiful Cape Cod house, but a tent that Barnum and Bailey would envy. Holly Safford of A Catered Affair and her team I think blew everyone away. And walking inside that tent only confirmed that this was going to be one magnificent “backyard” Cape Cod wedding video.

Are you ready for another adventure? Well we were really in for one, when we headed to Cape Cod and boarded the Hy-line ferry to Nantucket for Ashley+David’s wedding.  We first arrived at this Nantucket wedding and headed out to The Wauwinet for a lobster bake on the beach with Ashley and David’s closest family and friends. It doesn’t get much better for a wedding video then this; long beaches, tall grass and an amazing sunset. Absolutely fantastic! As the sun set over the horizon, everyone snuggled up on the beach around a fire and ate s’mores.

The following day we explored Nantucket, from it’s cobblestone streets and quaint shops, to the docks that tied off some massive yachts. It all had the sense of luxury and relaxation, just like this wedding.

The wedding ceremony was held at one of the island most amazing spots, The White Elephant. Here, Ashley and David got married outside, with the  sailboats tied up and rocking in the waves behind them. Again, just a perfect backdrop for this Nantucket wedding video.

We are just so glad Ashley+David had us come to film their wedding in Nantucket. It was an adventure that highlighted our summer.

Kinda out of no where, the skies opened up and poured. Like hurricane rain…. not just like sprinkles…..

It’s OK! We moved everything inside!!  Jessica loved that her dad got to walk her down the aisle outside but that they got to say our vows in the intimate setting of the interior of the barn.

Every cloud has a silver lining right?!

Tia of Tia’s food of love did everything- food, decor, planning – just literally everything.

I believe I got poison ivy in this field. Totally worth it!

A Thousand Islands wedding to start the week off right! It’s been a few years since I was up in the 1000 Islands shooting a wedding and I was extremely excited to be back on a gorgeous weekend with nice weather, orange sunsets, boat rides, and a great group of people. Weekends like this make “work” extremely enjoyable!

We started off with a little hair and make up before we jumped on a boat to head over to Boldt Castle

Did Lauren ROCK it or what? If I ever have a ginger baby girl (hey, there is a chance!), I want the baby to look just like Lauren.

Taking to the streets for Nantucket wedding photos! Everything is almost walking distance from the White Elephant Nantucket Wedding so that’s nice!

This is right behind Tommy Hilfigers house.

One of the reasons they love Nantucket is because of its natural beauty and subdued elegance.  Foremost, they wanted to showcase the harbor which was serving as the backdrop of their reception.  They also wanted to give the event a relaxed yet elegant feel, and incorporated a Nantucket touches such as blue hydrangeas, beach grass, and the starfish escort cards.

I had to sneak out of the venue for these shots across the street but NO WAY was I missing a sunset like this on the shore!
