Yin+Lee’s Cornell Wedding

Congrats to my latest Cornell wedding couple: Yin+Lee! Married at Cornell University on another amazing summer day in Ithaca. Clark+Walker’s roots trace back to Ithaca, where it was originally born (on The Commons!) so it’s always fun to head back for Statler Hotel weddings.

Yin+Lee had a blast blending Jewish and Chinese cultures.

We always love seeing Sarah from Wildflower Florist. Congrats on your new shop!

Go Jets?

Yin+Lee met at Cornell thier freshman year (lived in the same dorm) and met through mutual friends, but didn’t start dating until 3 weeks prior to graduation (after plenty of goading from the same mutual friends).

I know we usually save the butta light for portraits, but this Statler Hotel wedding had it during getting ready….

Another gorgeous C+W bride for an Ithaca wedding!

Damn girl, work it!

First look time at the Gothic columns.

Famous CW bridal party shots!

They were married with Lee’s great grandmother’s wedding ring (which she used at her own marriage 100 years ago in 1912). All of the grandchildren in the Dember family (his mother’s family) have used this ring in their ceremonies.

Double Happiness was all around at this wedding.

The Statler Hotel ballroom looked gorgeous for this wedding, per usual at Cornell

Love the change of dresses!

Hailey+Eric’s Ithaca Engagment Shoot

Hailey and Eric met at Cornell University while attending school, so having their engagement session there was a no brainer! The session was fantastic and the trees being in bloom really gave some awesome character to the images. They will be getting married in NYC this June, we are really looking forward to it! Congratulations guys, see you soon!

Love shooting this time of year with all the gorgeous blossoms!

Hailey’s jacket was super cute

The campus at Cornell provides such a beautiful backdrop

Spent some time checking out the library.

Such a stunning couple!

Having some fun!

Loving the red umbrella!

Thanks to you both for such a fun session! Can’t wait for the wedding!

Melissa+Rob

You may remember Melissa+Rob from their recent Boston engagement shoot.  It was featured here on our blog, and then also on the Beantown Bride blog as well.  As if that wasn’t enough they are also really good friends with Molly+Jeremy who’s wedding I photographed a couple years.  No pressure or anything!  No really there actually wasn’t as I knew these 2 were easy on the eyes and at this point we all worked great together.  It was also a fun weekend for me coming back to my old stomping grounds and enjoying a gorgeous weekend in Ithaca.  Unfortunately it rained the entire way over for me and I had a feeling it might stay, fortunately we scored some gorgeous weather though.

I noticed the Statler Hotel did a great job renovating their bridal suite and it looked awesome!

I love this moment below! You know the ceremony is going to have some tears if I’m getting this during getting ready :)

Sage Chapel is always an amazing venue

This little courtyard right outside Sage is absolutely BOMB for photographs!

Considering that Melissa+Rob met each other at Cornell as freshman we wanted to stay on the beautiful campus for the money shots

Melissa Hill did another knockout job with the reception at the Statler

Then it was time to get the party on yea son!

Thank you both so much for having me at your wedding!

congrats to Sharon + Matt

I apologize for the delay in blogging, we have moved our office and there was a 10 day wait to get internet installed in our place.  What did we do without internet again??  Anyway we still don’t get it until Thursday evening so I’m bringing work home with me to blog :)

I was lucky enough to be able to come along to Sharon and Matt’s wedding at a very familiar place – Cornell University.  Being from right near there I love the area and it’s always a pleasure to photograph weddings at a place as beautiful at CU.
I love the Chuck Taylor’s for wedding shoes (you have to be comfortable!)

Sage really is a stunning Chapel (even if the priest did say more than once “a wedding is not a photo op right?” You’re asking the wrong person Father :)

More often than not I photograph shorter ceremonies, so I get what I can and then get in position to grab the kiss and if I’m able to try and get some funky ceremony stuff in between – awesome. However when I get an hour long mass like this I try and get a little more creative and “in between” shots. I love this one of Matt…

We didn’t get that amazing sunset light that I love so much, but we did find a couple great locations

I want to thank Sharon and Matt for having me at their wedding, and I also want to thank my good friend Matt Antonino for coming out and rocking my world!

Sharon Roche: Luke & Matt - the photos are amazing! We loved working with you and want to thank you for trekking all over Cornell so that we could visit all the awesome photo spots (not so easy on a hot and humid August day)! Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!!
