Show+Tell: Aurora Inn

That’s right, our Show+Tell feature is coming back!  Usually during the months of Nov-Apr when things are a touch slower it gives us the chance to go out an do our Show+Tell features where we sit down and give you a better look into a company, place, or service that we enjoy here at C+W.  Considering Alisha and I chose to get married at the Aurora Inn, I think the venue falls under that category :)  Last year I sat down with Heather when we were over in Aurora for our wedding, and we’ve been waiting to post this for a while once we had an opening on the blog to show it.

Our wedding at the Aurora Inn was absolutely fantastic, and we’ve seen shot numerous weddings there ourselves and I know our brides have had a fantastic experience as well. The setting is incredible and Heather is one of the best people you can have at your wedding. She’s absolutely amazing at her job and brings the same vibe to work that we try to bring to the wedding day as well. Without further ado….

Jacquie + Andreas at Aurora Inn

Jacquie and Andreas’s wedding at Aurora Inn was a showstopper and we’re thrilled to be sharing it here on the blog – we love Aurora Inn! (You might remember that we got married there last year.) Everything about their wedding was top notch and we loved the classic black and white color combination – talk about chic! Jacquie and Andreas worked with Heather Davidson, the coordinator at Aurora Inn and together they just knocked it out of the park.

Kris Kellogg did Jacquie’s hair and makeup and did an amazing job – she was absolutely gorgeous! Her stunning dress was by Amsale purchased at Serendipity Bridal in Austin, Texas.

Loved the bridesmaids in these elegant black dresses by Jim Hjelm, also from Serendipity Bridal. All of the gorgeous flowers were from In Bloom in Elmira and we loved Jacquie’s cute black shoes from J.Crew.

These next photos are two of our favorites! Jacquie’s Man of Honor teared up while giving a reading during the ceremony and her face was just priceless. There was a lot of love that day.

As any modern couple knows, you’re not married until facebook says so! These two cracked us up by whipping out their iPhones during portraits to update their facebook status. Priceless!

Favors were cool mini bottles of vodka and the black and white color palette carried into the centerpieces. Even the dancefloor was black and white checks!

Love this group shot! An old bike? Check! Crumbling wall? Check! Super hot bridal party? Check!

John Dad: Great, great day.........outstanding pictures. I shared the link with all my coworkers at the plant and corporate coworkers who I have a relationship with. Many comments such as "they look like they came from a magazine" & "best wedding pictures I've ever seen". Additionally, the photos were posted on the television in the break room at our plant. Tough decision on best picture......but I'll go with the bicycle shot.

Dee: Thank you for the link to this site, Jacquie. Every single photograph is stunning! My favorite is the bridal party shot with the bike. Beautiful couple. Beautiful day.

Jacci: JACQUIE! These are some of the BEST wedding pix I have EVER seen! Congrats again to you and Andreas on an exceptionally beautiful wedding and an exceptionally talented photograher! Loved ALL of it! Ok, favorite is you in front of Inn, turning back, both sitting on pier and Andreas against old mill with you, flowers behind him and the wedding party with you on bikes, too! But all are great! Hard to choose! XOXO

Dan and Diane Kuzma: We are mesmerized by the beauty and diversity of all the pictures, it would be impossible to pick "the best". Under adorable and unique I'd definitely select the bike shot down by the old grist mill. What a FABULOUS DAY!

Mommo: This was VERY difficult! The third from the last shot. is my favorite. The "Newlyweds" w/ the lake behind , is blowing my mind! Jacquie's look at all of us is SO breathtaking and moving.

Luke Walker + Alisha Clark the wedding!

Finally, what so many of you (mostly family) have been waiting for! Here is the extremely extended blog version of mine and Alisha’s wedding :) I’m going to jump right into this because there are a lot of pictures…

First we had the rehearsal dinner on Monday night, which was a blast. It was an absolutely perfect night and we were hoping we didn’t use all of our weather mojo on the rehearsal. The paparazzi were at it full effect even on Monday night, but it was worth it for shots like this.

img_8626

After the festivities were over Alisha and Sabrina had planned for everyone to have s’mores by the campfire. It was an intense set up with strawberry, coconut, vanilla bean, and banana flavored smores!
img_8690

It was an awesome night and a great time. Because our ceremony was at 5:30pm the next day, I had all day to hang out at the house with friends and family. We tossed the football around, had some lunch, Frank and I went for a swim, it couldn’t have been more fun with so many of our close friends just hanging out.

While I was outside swimming in the lake Alisha was upstairs getting ready
untitled-1

I LOVE this shot of Alisha and her sister Liz
img_9137

Once Alisha put on her dress she was looking smokin!
img_9175

Jen Davis caught 2 awesome moments here, the first is Alisha and Lillie before the ceremony
037

And this shot of Alisha coming down for the ceremony…
030

Because we had a vintage theme to our wedding, Alisha rented these totally unique vintage umbrellas for guests who wanted some shade
031

They looked great during the ceremony!
img_9310

And yes I cried when Alisha came down the aisle. Ok you got me, it was A LOT! I particularly like this shot though because of my mother watching on so proud :))

Lillie was the perfect flower girl coming down the aisle :)

We really wanted to make sure Lillie was a part of our ceremony since she’s obviously such a huge part of our lives, so we brought her over and gave her this necklace during the ceremony. It was important to me that she be a part of the marriage ceremony. You can see how proud I am of her.
5176_100755692135_685262135_2476716_3506395_n

When you get a chance to get snuggly with the bride, you take advantage :)
img_9375

img_9397

Now on to my favorite part of every wedding… the formals! Just kidding, the relaxed bridal portraits of course. This has HUGE canvas gallery wrap in our living written all over it.

Very cool shot here as well
img_0035

For those of you who have been to the EB Morgan House, we brought in and hung japanese lanterns in front of the house which I really liked
img_9728

I couldn’t resist, I had to make someone take a picture of us with this fence
082

For those of you wondering… no I couldn’t leave the camera alone the entire day. I know I know, it was brief but I had to get some stuff of Alisha. Here is Chris and I shooting next to each other (at my own wedding… good stuff)
img_9944

I’m not really huge on formals, but this is awesome :)
img_9427

What an awesome shot of Lillie and her friend Wilton right??!

Our reception site looked amazing, huge props to Alisha, Sabrina, and Heather for pulling it all together. This is exactly what I set out to have from the beginning, I drove Alisha to the Aurora Inn myself to sell her on this exact picture below. Her and the 2 ladies I just mentioned pulled it all together and put the finishing touches on it to make it even better than I had hoped for.

Here are some of the details…

Alisha did a great job collecting the antique hobnail containers you see here to line the tables

Time for the dancing…. we chose the song “Waste” by Phish as our first dance song. I was surprised I didn’t cry, it might have been the only time all day ;)
088

My Dad was my best man since he is my best friend, and he gave an awesome speech (much to my surprise!)
erer

Alisha had been growing her hair for months for the wedding so she had something to work with, but I really like her with short hair. A lot. So as a surprise she snuck away and had her haircut while I was burning up the dance floor
qwqw

Sabrina drove her back to the reception in her new dress and her hair change (that’s weird to type)…
bnn

Alisha looked beautiful in her new outfit

We partied well into the night!

HUGE thank you to our official photographers JASON GROUPP and JENNIFER DAVIS for all of their amazing photographs. Two of our good friends, and they absolutely blew us away with their talent.
4861_219602450726_666415726_7488553_5892229_n

A big thank you also needs to go out to our in-house videographer, and good friend, Chris Bruno for kicking some major ass with our video.

Also, in case you haven’t seen the video here is the trailer Chris put together….

Thank you for re-living the day with us, I cannot put into words what a truly awesome experience it was. Without a doubt the best day of my life and I’m so glad I get to share it with so many people.

Wedding Trailer for Kristin + Steve – Aurora Inn

And here we are with the wedding trailer for Kristin+Steve from their wedding at the Aurora Inn!

I needn’t mention that the Aurora Inn is pretty special to us here at Clark+Walker because it’s where Luke+Alisha tied the knot just last year.  And not only that, it just happens to be a fabulous place to shoot a wedding!  The Inn is gorgeous! The lake is gorgeous! The bride, too, is gorgeous!   So many great possibilities for shooting that it’s definitely near the top of my list for local wedding venues with great eye candy!

But that’s just the half of it.  The other part of the equation is to have a slammin’ couple that’s totally into having their pictures/video captured.  Kristin+Steve were definitely no exception, as we had an absolute blast shooting with them!

Thanks Krsitin+Steve!  I had such a great day shooting with you!!

Vendors that were there makin’ the magic happen with us:

Venue/Catering/Cake: Aurora Inn
Flowers: Wildflowers
Dress: Suzanne Ermann Paris
Accessories: Elsa Peretti Open Heart collection for Tiffany & Co.
Entertainment: The Mario DeSantis Band & Orchestra
