Finally, what so many of you (mostly family) have been waiting for! Here is the extremely extended blog version of mine and Alisha’s wedding :) I’m going to jump right into this because there are a lot of pictures…
First we had the rehearsal dinner on Monday night, which was a blast. It was an absolutely perfect night and we were hoping we didn’t use all of our weather mojo on the rehearsal. The paparazzi were at it full effect even on Monday night, but it was worth it for shots like this.
After the festivities were over Alisha and Sabrina had planned for everyone to have s’mores by the campfire. It was an intense set up with strawberry, coconut, vanilla bean, and banana flavored smores!
It was an awesome night and a great time. Because our ceremony was at 5:30pm the next day, I had all day to hang out at the house with friends and family. We tossed the football around, had some lunch, Frank and I went for a swim, it couldn’t have been more fun with so many of our close friends just hanging out.
While I was outside swimming in the lake Alisha was upstairs getting ready
I LOVE this shot of Alisha and her sister Liz
Once Alisha put on her dress she was looking smokin!
Jen Davis caught 2 awesome moments here, the first is Alisha and Lillie before the ceremony
And this shot of Alisha coming down for the ceremony…
Because we had a vintage theme to our wedding, Alisha rented these totally unique vintage umbrellas for guests who wanted some shade
They looked great during the ceremony!
And yes I cried when Alisha came down the aisle. Ok you got me, it was A LOT! I particularly like this shot though because of my mother watching on so proud :))
Lillie was the perfect flower girl coming down the aisle :)
We really wanted to make sure Lillie was a part of our ceremony since she’s obviously such a huge part of our lives, so we brought her over and gave her this necklace during the ceremony. It was important to me that she be a part of the marriage ceremony. You can see how proud I am of her.
When you get a chance to get snuggly with the bride, you take advantage :)
Now on to my favorite part of every wedding… the formals! Just kidding, the relaxed bridal portraits of course. This has HUGE canvas gallery wrap in our living written all over it.
Very cool shot here as well
For those of you who have been to the EB Morgan House, we brought in and hung japanese lanterns in front of the house which I really liked
I couldn’t resist, I had to make someone take a picture of us with this fence
For those of you wondering… no I couldn’t leave the camera alone the entire day. I know I know, it was brief but I had to get some stuff of Alisha. Here is Chris and I shooting next to each other (at my own wedding… good stuff)
I’m not really huge on formals, but this is awesome :)
What an awesome shot of Lillie and her friend Wilton right??!
Our reception site looked amazing, huge props to Alisha, Sabrina, and Heather for pulling it all together. This is exactly what I set out to have from the beginning, I drove Alisha to the
Aurora Inn myself to sell her on this exact picture below. Her and the 2 ladies I just mentioned pulled it all together and put the finishing touches on it to make it even better than I had hoped for.
Here are some of the details…
Alisha did a great job collecting the antique hobnail containers you see here to line the tables
Time for the dancing…. we chose the song “Waste” by Phish as our first dance song. I was surprised I didn’t cry, it might have been the only time all day ;)
My Dad was my best man since he is my best friend, and he gave an awesome speech (much to my surprise!)
Alisha had been growing her hair for months for the wedding so she had something to work with, but I really like her with short hair. A lot. So as a surprise she snuck away and had her haircut while I was burning up the dance floor
Sabrina drove her back to the reception in her new dress and her hair change (that’s weird to type)…
Alisha looked beautiful in her new outfit
We partied well into the night!
HUGE thank you to our official photographers
JASON GROUPP and
JENNIFER DAVIS for all of their amazing photographs. Two of our good friends, and they absolutely blew us away with their talent.
A big thank you also needs to go out to our in-house videographer, and good friend, Chris Bruno for kicking some major ass with our video.
Also, in case you haven’t seen the video here is the trailer Chris put together….
Thank you for re-living the day with us, I cannot put into words what a truly awesome experience it was. Without a doubt the best day of my life and I’m so glad I get to share it with so many people.
