Happy Monday everyone – get ready for an absolutely gorgeous wedding that I can’t wait to share with you. In addition to being a beautiful wedding with details that I drooled over, it was also a wedding full of familiar faces. I photographed Elisabeth’s brother, Evan and his beautiful bride Caitlin, a couple years ago and got to know the family. Pictures to prove it.
I’ve teased this wedding on our facebook page several times now, and you’ll quickly see why below. Let’s jump into it!
Elisabeth has impeccable taste and the dress and shoes, some of my personal favorite items at a wedding which we all know, were just awesome. The dress was a beauty from Amsale and those shoes? How about “something blue” and Oscar together in one sweet package?
C+W always manages to get hot brides (just browse the blog!)!
Soft light, nice details, beautiful bride… I love my job.
On top of all of that – you give me a family like this to work with? C’mon you gotta love these guys! Instantly blog celebrity status.
On a whim I jumped in the limo and had Andrew drive to the ceremony with the car so I could be in the ride to the church – and I’m so glad I did. I am in love with this moment between the family on the way there.
One of the things that makes our studio very different is that we travel a ton for weddings. We are word of mouth based for the most part and that brings us to a variety of different locations. I’ve shot in Philadelphia a number of times now and it’s these places with so much character like below that always stand out. You’ll also see with the Union League Wedding below.
One of my favorite moments of the day
Something especially neat about the church was the fact that it was also the place Elisabeth’s parents were married.
After the ceremony we hit up this small back alley behind the church for a couple portraits before we were moving to beat the weather
Meanwhile back at the reception room (the Union League) all the details were getting finished and prepped. Huge props to Rhoads Garden on some amazing centerpieces.
There’s also a shout out necessary to Chip Behr for this room as well as I know he worked hard on it. Chip I had to give you some official credit, especially for that lighting. The navy+pink color combination Elisabeth picked for the wedding also just really jumped once you entered the room.
During cocktails I was able to sneak Elisabeth+Bill down to the first floor of the Union League for some portraits
We also headed outside to take advantage of the beautiful Philadelphia city streets
People were getting ready to rock!
The lighting in the room was my best friend all night, especially with all the pinlights and spotlights.
It helped give everything in the room a romantic quality
A couple great moments with both families
That’s one proud parent right there
I’ll leave you with a couple more of my favorite night captures:
