Even those of you who follow this blog on a semi-regular basis have to be familiar with how eager we are to share our work with our couples, and unveil their wedding photo+film on this blog. We are fortunate to work with some amazing couples, many of whom we develop a relationship with. This morning though, we’re downright giddy to share a wedding of two of our friends. I met Heather a number of years back when I first started to get commissioned by The Knot to do fashion runway shows for the magazine and website. Heather is the Fashion Editor of The Knot so naturally we went to countless shows together, on tight schedules, all over Manhattan, sharing cabs, talking dresses… and two people learn to love each other quick sharing that experience as you can imagine. Fortunately for Heather and I we do love each other and once Alisha started shooting just as much as myself (since Clark+Walker does all of their shows for the last couple of years) we all became good friends. Over the years we kept hearing more and more about Nate and last year we were finally able to all sit down together and break bread and Alisha and I knew it was just a matter of time until we hit this day :)
It’s extremely common for us to arrive at someone’s wedding already being a friend because of the wedding planning process, or certainly feeling like one… but today we are extremely proud to share our good friends Heather+Nate’s wedding images. It was an honor sharing the weekend with such great families and we hope everyone loves the images as much as we do. As if this amazingly long blog entry didn’t already have enough eye candy, we’re also breaking tradition and including Josh’s film in this entry as well. Get ready to smile, to laugh, to hopefully tear up a little… and most of all to enjoy:
The weekend started with Alisha shooting a wedding in NY on Friday and then flying to Pittsburgh Saturday morning to catch the rehearsal dinner. With some butta light and a hot couple she had to sneak them out for a mini engagement style shoot
Once the rehearsal was finished and the food was eaten, the rest of the C+W crew drove in from another wedding in Rochester to meet up in Pittsburgh the morning of the wedding. Given the work experiences Heather and I have shared in the past I’ve seen her a touch nervous/agitated before, and I loved it when she told us that normally when she gets like this she’s used to just calling Nate. However once that dress came out Heather was in straight up model mode the rest of the day!
Being the Fashion Editor for The Knot it goes without saying the dress was going to be a total knockout. Heather went with the official C+W favorite dress designer, Oscar De La Renta, and she rocked it with style!!
Pffft, talk about an easy day at the office… Heather made us look good!
One of my personal favorites of the day (which is saying something for this wedding)
Another weekend, another great looking couple for us
We were able to sneak them outside for some relaxed, fun portraits before the ceremony and guests arrived
This field we saw on the drive in was calling our name – screaming it in fact. Once it started to rain (we’re shooting this in a light mist before the ceremony keep in mind) I knew we were pushing it… but wouldn’t you for a scene like this?
Once we headed inside to hide from the rain it was time for the Ketubah signing. This moment as Nate signs to make the marriage official was special to me as I captured it
Guests were treated to mini popcorn boxes and lemonade as they filled in for the ceremony
The ceremony details were beautiful, and I have to give a big shout out to Gerald from Seasons A Floral Design Studio. Almost everyone was pushing for the ceremony to be inside because of the weather, but I knew Heather wanted it outside (so did we for selfish reasons) and he problem solved solutions for both and rescued the ceremony. Just another example of why you work with great people at your wedding
A wide range of emotions during the ceremony – a photographers dream. From huge smiles….
To laughter and tears
One of my favorite ceremony captures (Alisha’s on it as usual)
The Clark+Walker facebook teaser we posted
The lighting, linens, and decor Heather brought in all looked amazing (complete professionals list at the bottom of the blog entry)
This shot of their first dance with the candles hanging above them is gorgeous
A classic from Alisha
As you’ll see in the video, these guys partied the night away big time!
As if all these photos weren’t enough, strap yourself in for their trailer as well!
Thank you, thank you, thank you… to both families for having us, for allowing us to share in the weekend with you, and for trusting us to capture such a special event. Having the entire C+W crew together, and both myself and Alisha at the same event, is rare and was truly a blast for us all.
