Every once in a while we get to work with a couple with the coolest love story. Emily and Steve? They are definitely one of those couples. They first met when they were nine at summer camp at Camp Taconic in the Berkshires. They were camp friends until the age of fifteen and, after falling out of touch, both coincidentally started working at the camp in 2003. A year later they started dating and the rest is history! So, of course, it only made sense that they returned to the place where it all started by celebrating their wedding at Camp Taconic.
Emily wore a fabulous dress by Mikaella Bridal from Fontana Bridal and worked with our good friends at Make Me Fabulous for hair and makeup. They worked with Linda Johnson of Precious Planning to plan their cool summer camp wedding and we loved being a part of the celebration. With Emily’s family in Cleveland and Steve’s family in Toronto, celebrating in the Berkshires made for a fun destination event – a bunch of their guests even got to stay overnight at the camp!
The chuppah, made of small birch logs, looked perfect among the big pine trees in the rustic camp setting. The mix of rustic details and classic, elegant style lent a really memorable and special look to their wedding.
Steve gifted the guys these cool penny cufflinks and we should probably mention that we’re digging that sweet white watch, too. Gratuitous cute kid photo? Ask and you shall receive.
Emily and Steve rocked out the camp for their reception! Big chandeliers were the perfect touch for the big camp room where the festivities took place and they hung tons of candles from the ceiling – such an awesome look!
A huge shout out to the New York Players for absolutely killing it at the reception – this crowd was moving all night long!
Congratulations, Emily and Steve! It was such an honor to share in your wedding celebration and we wish you many more years of love and friendship!
