Extended blog entry alert! I’m stoked to make this blog entry and have been since we got back from Beth+Ken’s wedding. I had just gotten back from shooting Bridal Fashion in NY for a week and while it was nice to change up my shooting style for a bit, I was ready to dive back into a really nice wedding :) The weather was supposed to be super craptastic which is always a bummer but the weather is over-rated anyway. We can nail a wedding no matter what conditions Mother Nature gives us.
In addition to getting to meet Beth+Ken beforehand and really liking them both, I knew they had a great team helping them too. From Sarah Chilson and the crew at Saratoga National to Kris Ann Blanchette at Fleurtacious and Alayne Curtiss at our favorite Make Me Fabulous… I knew I’d be working with a team of professionals who do it right. On to the pics!
Beth sent over a gorgeous Rolex as a present for Ken in the morning which he loved. The picture on the right though I especially love… the groomsmen informed me that it was a divot wedding cake. They collected all of Ken’s divots and make this shrine for him.
With a crew like that, it was easy to get some smiles from Ken
Beth is yet another drop dead gorgeous C+W bride (and no it never gets old!). I loved her dress and it fit her like a glove
I especially love this shot though of a special moment with her family during the getting ready
As if there wasn’t enough to already make me giddy, she had to bust out some Jimmy Choo’s too! Rain can be a bummer but when you get to raise your dress and show off such cute shoes it’s not all bad:)
St. Clements Church was beautiful, and I’ll be back again this coming weekend
I’m always looking for some little moments that the bride+groom sneak in during the ceremony
Beth has such a great natural smile that it was easy to focus on her
I think it’s contagious though too
After we exited the church we didn’t have a ton of time before the sun was gone and it was raining really hard. Time to worry right? Wrong. I love some of these portraits we were able to capture
I know when most bridal party’s hear me say group shots they instantly think “this suck!” but it doesn’t have to be the case. We can have some fun with them and usually when we do it loosens everyone up.
It finally (and temporarily) stopped raining for about 20 minutes during portraits so we hiked out to this glowing tree for some Fall shots
Huge props to Beth for rolling with the punches and heading out to this tree to get the shots. I know brides don’t ever want to get their dress dirty on the wedding day, and most of you know I love wedding dresses more than any straight man should. However sometimes it’s a must and hopefully these will be worth it
The crew at Saratoga National did a phenomenal job setting up the room and Kris Ann’s centerpieces were a big hit
I knew we’d get some fun details to shoot of course
While all the travel we do can sometimes get a little old, we always enjoy shooting at new places and artistically challenging ourselves to be putting out new work. With that said though I think I could get used to shooting at Saratoga National and Hall of Springs on a regular basis especially when they are done up like this.
A huge thank you to Beth+Ken for trusting us to shoot the photos and capture the video. It was an awesome wedding and you did an incredible job putting it all together!
