I’ve been excited to make this blog post since I got home from Alia and Rahul’s wedding. I was lucky enough to meet Alia and Rahul a while back at another wedding, and then we frolicked around Manhattan for their engagement shoot as well. I knew it was going to be one of those weddings where everyone lets me do what I want and I’m able to get my best stuff. Plus honestly it was one of the best weekends I’ve had in a while, I had a blast. I stayed in a nice hotel with lots of shopping nearby and also was across the street from a Melting Pot (a couple ying-yangs came my way I admit!). You may remember their awesome e-shoot from this shot that’s on my website:
Alright, on to the images….
The morning of the wedding when I show up can be so different. Sometimes it’s very quite with no music and no one talking. That can be sometimes a bit awkward as there’s not much to shoot. Think of that, and then think of the opposite and you have the morning of Alia’s wedding!
It’s my favorite type of morning though because I get so much emotion and genuine smiles to work with
What’s an afternoon without a rowdy baraat in the downtown streets of one of the country’s largest cities??
Another beautiful mundap and overall ceremony decor for me
When you see a group of ladies like this, you know you are on my blog :)
I hate to say it, but it’s starting to get to that prime light of the day much earlier and it’s not lasting as long. Fall is around the corner here in the Northeast :( However that does mean some really sweet light right now and we had to hurry to catch it.
I feel like these shots came out pretty decent right?
A little more urban side of things (the portrait on the left has to be your facebook picture guys, I demand it!)
The reception was beautiful, of course, and the two of them had a great first dance
Finally I have to post one of my group shots of course, but this one is a bit different. Usually it’s a bit more contemporary and spread out, but I love this one because it shows what an awesome crowd I had and how much fun everyone really did have at the wedding. Plus the guy on the far right cracks me up, you know he’s like “I soooooo do not know these guys” in this shot!
I want to thank Alia and Rahul for having me at their wedding, and I also want to give a shout out to DJ Raj who I’ve worked with now a couple times and who did a great job keeping the party hoping all night. I’d definitely recommend checking out the company for a kick ass reception!
